Azotobacter are free-living, nitrogen-fixing bacteria that fixes atmospheric nitrogen and promotes plant growth by producing plant growth regulators like hormones and vitamins, antifungal substances and siderophores in cereals and others non-leguminous crops.
We have found in pot trials that Azotobacter beijerinckii (Genbank MF197431.1), Azotobacter chrooococum and Azotobacter vinelandii can provide 20-30% increases in rice yield.
